Motive Wave Variants · Lesson 5 of 6

Channeling.

Channeling is the practice of drawing parallel trendlines through an unfolding impulse. Start with the base channel after W2 completes. Update to the W1-W3 channel after W3. Finalize with the W2-W4 lower line plus a parallel through W3-top after W4. The final channel projects where W5 should end - either at the upper line, slightly above (throw-over), or slightly below. A clean channel break after W5 completes confirms the impulse is finished. A premature channel break warns of structural failure.

Price Time Upper: parallel through W1-top Lower: through start and W2 Start + W2 define the lower line. Parallel projected through W1 forms the upper line. Upper: parallel through W1-top Lower: through start and W2 Start + W2 define the lower line. Parallel projected through W1 forms the upper line. Slope = (W2.y - start.y) / (W2.x - start.x). Upper: through W1 and W3 Lower: parallel through W2 W1 + W3 define the upper line. Parallel projected through W2 forms the lower line, marking where W4 may find support. Upper: through W1 and W3 Lower: parallel through W2 W1 + W3 define the upper line. Parallel projected through W2 forms the lower line, which marks where W4 may find support. Upper: parallel through W3-top Lower: through W2 and W4 W5 throw-over W2 + W4 define the lower channel. W3 defines the parallel projection. W5 ends at, above (throw-over), or just inside the upper line. Upper: parallel through W3-top Lower: through W2 and W4 W5 throw-over W2 + W4 define the lower channel. W3 defines the parallel projection. W5 ends near, at, above (throw-over), or just inside the upper line. Workflow: draw base channel after W2. Update to W1-W3 channel after W3. Finalize with W2-W4 channel after W4. W5 ends at, above, or just inside the upper line. (i) (ii) (iii) (iv) (v) 1 2 3 4 5
